TRAINING SERVICES

Did you know we also offer dog training?

A little about my experience: I have been training dogs for over 20 years, everything from basic obedience, to tricks, to show handling. I was introduced to dog shows in my quest to produce healthier bulldogs. I quickly found that in order to have access to the best(and healthiest) dogs in the world for my breeding program, I had to prove I was serious and "run with the big dogs", so that's exactly what I set out to do. I quickly found that to be able to walk into the show ring and hold my ground against the best dogs and their professional handlers, my dogs had to be impeccably trained and properly socialized as well as their dogs were. This was no place to have a dog acting up or humiliating me by showing off their bad behavior in front of hundreds of spectators. There were very specific things show dogs needed to be trained to do! A fire was lit in me for training and showing from that point forward. The more I learned and trained with my dogs, the more I wanted to know! This led me to learn more about AKC Rally(advanced obedience obstacle course competitions) and begin competing in those competitions with my dogs as well. Showing and competing is now more than just a hobby for me on the weekends, it is a passion. I have traveled the country to attend continuing education seminars and dog shows/events. I have also volunteered with the Bulldog Club of America Rescue Network, local 4H participants, and have mentored kids who participate with their dogs in AKC Junior Handing or AKC Rally events.

Small Group Obedience Classes

We offer small group obedience training classes several times through out the year.  Classes run 1 class per week, 1 hour per class for 6 weeks.  We cover basic obedience commands such as come, sit, lay down, and stay, as well as skills such as walking politely on leash, not jumping up, and politely greeting other dogs and people. This class is great for dogs of all ages, but is highly recommended for all puppies before they have a chance to learn bad habits that could require behavior modification training.

Contact Meg's Grooming Salon for enrollment in our next class.

Spots for these classes are limited and fill up fast, so don't delay on enrolling when we announce our next class!

Cost for this 6 week class is $120 per dog, due before the class begins to reserve your spot.

Private One-on-One Training

If our small group setting isn't the right fit for your needs, we also offer private one-on-one training sessions. These sessions can be tailored to fit your personal training goals and focus very specifically on your individual training needs so you can accomplish progress at a faster pace.

One-on-one sessions are great for working on obedience training, advanced obedience, and even tricks! ***These sessions can also be a valuable investment when used for behavior modification training to help solve problematic behaviors.

Private training session rates begin at $50 per 1 hour session for basic obedience training.  For your convenience, sessions can be set up to work around your schedule.

***When seeking behavior modification training for problematic behaviors occurring in your home, it is best to address the issue in the place it is occurring. We can come to you for these types of training session for an added fee that covers our travel and time. Contact us for more information.
